World-champion professional eater, Joey Chestnut, set a new world record by eating 15 pounds of St. Elmo shrimp cocktail during the St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail Eating Championship during the Big Ten Championship Game festivities Saturday.
Chestnut had competition this year as Carmen Cincotti, the number four ranked eater, also consumed 14.25 pounds of the spicy, horseradish-laden sauce. Competitors had eight minutes to eat as much shrimp cocktail as possible.
In 2015, Chestnut ate 12.25 pounds of shrimp cocktail.
