Paige Conover, 25, of Kailua, Hawaii, Injured in Noble County Off Road Vehicle Accident

Noble County – On July 5, 2017, at 1:23 pm, Indiana Conservation Officers investigated an ORV accident involving injury in a field near Avilla.

Dylan Stewart, 33, of Kailua, Hawaii, was operating his father’s 2015 Polaris RZR at a considerably slow speed in a hay field on his family’s property when he struck a limb hidden in the grass with the right front tire.

The limb entered the cab of the side by side ORV through the thin plastic fire wall behind the front tire and impaled the left thigh of the passenger Paige Conover, 25, also of Kailua, Hawaii. The limb then embedded itself into the driver’s seat.

Conover was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center by Samaritan Helicopter with severe leg injuries.

Departments assisting on scene were Noble County Sheriff’s Department, Parkview Ambulance Service, and Parkview Samaritan Helicopter.

ISP Looking for Ford Pickup in Hit and Run near Noble/DeKalb County

Indiana State Police sent this bulletin at 07/06/2017 08:04 AM EDT

Noble County, IN – The Indiana State Police are investigating a hit and run crash which occurred early this morning outside of Avilla involving an adult female bicyclist and police searching for a full-sized Ford pickup truck.

Preliminary investigation conducted by Trooper John Silver indicated at approximately 6:50 a.m., a dark gray or charcoal colored Ford pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Baseline Road near County Road 1100 E, which is one mile west of the Noble/DeKalb County Line. The vehicle purportedly side-swiped a bicycle ridden by a 42 year old female from Avilla and continued eastbound towards DeKalb County.

The truck is reported as being full-sized, extended cab with a tool box in the rear and a lift kit which has it sitting higher than a normal full-sized truck. The passenger side mirror is missing, but the mirror assembly was still attached. The bicyclist was not injured.

Silver is asking anyone with information about the truck and/or its driver to contact the State Police Post in Fort Wayne at either (260) 432-8661 or (800) 552-0976.

All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law.

Ryan Frye, 28, of LaGrange, Injured in ATV Accident

Rome City – Indiana Conservation Officers investigated a Personal Injury All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) accident that occurred on April 22, 2017, at approximately 4:51 pm.

Ryan Frye, 28, of LaGrange, Indiana, was operating an ATV with Mallory Frye, 26, of LaGrange, Indiana as his passenger, in the area of County Road 150 East, South of Northport Road. The ATV hit a gravel patch on the roadway and struck a guardrail at a nearby bridge.

Mallory Frye was not injured, however, Ryan Frye sustained injuries to his head and neck and was transported by Parkview Noble EMS to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the treatment of his injuries.

Indiana Conservation Officers were also assisted by the Noble County Sheriff’s Department and the Orange Township Fire Department.
