2012 SpeedFest at Lucas Oil Raceway

 

Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis will proudly host two premiere sanctioning bodies that will feature the young guns of racing as the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menard and USAC will be feature during SpeedFest on July 26th and 27th. Four separate races will take place during the course of two days with USAC Midgets and Silver Crown along with the Jegs All-Star CRA, ARCA CRA Super Series and the ARCA Racing Series.

Thursday night starts the event with three separate feature events. The night will start off at 7:30 pm with a JEGS/CRA All-Star feature closely followed by the 30-lap USAC Midget feature. The night will finish off with the 100-lap J.D. Byrider 100 USAC Silver Crown feature. With three different series racing this is sure to be an exciting night of racing. Tickets are available and can be purchased for $25 adult general admission, $10 children 6-12 general admission; children five and under are free. Parking is $5. Spectator gates open at 2:30 p.m.

SpeedFest will continue on Friday night with a stock car double header. The ARCA CRA Super Series will start the night off with the Fatheadz 100 Presented by Team Construction at 7 pm. Following that race will be the 200-lap Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 Presented by Federated Car Care featuring the ARCA Racing Series. All eyes will be on the young and upcoming drivers in both series during the course of the evening. Tickets are still available and can be purchased for $35 for reserved; $20 for reserved general, children 12 and under; $25 for general admission with general admission junior 6-12 $10; children five and under free. Preferred Parking can be purchased for $20 with general parking for $10. Spectator gates open at 3 p.m.

SpeedFest’s two nights of racing will feature drivers from racing series who not normally race in the respective series’. Matt Crafton, NASCAR Camping World Truck driver, will be competing in the ARCA race. He has raced at Lucas Oil Raceway numerous times in his career and should be some tough competition for ARCA points leader, Brennan Poole, who is a rookie to the tricky oval. Kenzie Ruston, the first female in the history of CRA series to win a race, will be racing in two events at Lucas Oil Raceway where she achieved that victory. Tracey Hines will compete for a second win at Lucas Oil Raceway this season in the USAC Midget race after winning the Night Before the 500. USAC Silver Crown points leader Kody Swanson will look to drive to victory lane and keep hometown driver Bobby East behind him in the championship battle.
